For those of you who may have felt that it was a bit premature for me to recently declare that our wedding celebration was Covid Positive free (present company included), I have good news to report - "officially."
It has now been a full 21 days since the completion of our Wedding Weekend Wingding, so I can therefore report with full confidence that there was in fact not one single event-related positive Covid test result reported back to us. Let's take a recap look at the numbers:
There were over 135 souls in attendance with us at the Reception.
And smaller other collections/combinations of these aforementioned revelers at the:
- Rehearsal Dinner
- Make-up session, w/photo shoot
- Tux-up session, w/photo shoot
- Wedding Ceremony
- Outdoor Photo shoot
- Late-Night After Party
- Sunday "Bye-Bye" Brunch
That's a sizeable amount of gatherings with groups of people, some/many of who though fully vaccinated still brought with them varying medical challenges, comorbidities, and/or immune-system compromises (like Multiple Myeloma - for example) - all worth regarding and respecting. Through simple practices of mindful masking, diligent distancing, and common-sense caution, we were able to celebrate unabashedly without any obvious or obstructive barriers. And STILL, the science won out.
Frankly, I'm pretty damn proud of all of us, and even more grateful/thankful for this collective modest/moderate effort from everyone; that compounded to equal a magnanimous and magnificent memorable moment for all of us. It is amazing what can be accomplished when everyone does just a little for the sake of the greater good of all. I'll climb down off of my soapbox now, but not until I have thanked you all one (thousand) more times !!!
